Will at least one new Mexican fintech unicorn emerge in the second half of 2026 (July-December)?

Market context

Mexico has 11 unicorns (5 in fintech). Plata and Kapital already crossed the threshold in 2025. Among fintechs that are NOT yet unicorns, Klar (~$800M) is the closest. This asks whether any Mexican fintech will reach a valuation of at least $1 billion USD between July and December 2026.

Resolution criteria

• How it resolvesResolves YES if Crunchbase documents, no later than January 31, 2027, that at least one fintech based in Mexico (not a unicorn before July 1, 2026) reached a post-money valuation greater than or equal to $1,000,000,000 USD, with the event dated between July 1 and December 31, 2026. If Crunchbase does not document it, Tracxn is used with the same criterion. Resolves NO if no eligible company reaches that threshold per Crunchbase (or Tracxn) by that date. Source: Crunchbase.
