What exactly is a prediction market?

That price is also what you pay for your position: the more people believe it, the more expensive it is to bet that it will, and the cheaper it is to bet that it won't. You decide the price you're comfortable entering at.

How are events resolved?

Every market has clear rules from the day it's published: which source decides the outcome and when it's considered closed. There's no person behind the scenes deciding who wins by hand. When the event ends, the outcome is verified against that source and the market resolves automatically.

Where is my money in the meantime?
