Market context

The PAN and the PRI are negotiating alliances ahead of 2027. Jorge Romero says there will be an alliance, and Alejandro Moreno wants to run together nationwide. Parties have until January 4, 2027 to ask the INE to register a coalition for federal deputies. Will the INE approve a PAN and PRI coalition?

Resolution criteria

• How it resolvesResolves Yes if the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) approves a coalition agreement (total, partial or flexible) in which the National Action Party (PAN) and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) take part together for the 2027 ordinary federal deputies election (scheduled for June 6, 2027), on or before February 28, 2027 at 23:59 Mexico City time (05:59:00 UTC on March 1, 2027). It counts even if other parties join the agreement. The first approval within the period counts, even if the Electoral Tribunal later revokes it or the agreement is dissolved or changed. An INE decision issued to comply with an Electoral Tribunal ruling, or a ruling that grants the registration, within the period also counts. Coalitions or joint candidacies only for governorships or local elections do not count, nor does a request or an announced deal that is not approved within the period. Resolves No in any other case.
