Market context

The peso has spent weeks hovering around 17 to the dollar without making up its mind. On Friday, September 18, Banxico's FIX sets the day's official number. Three lines to read it: 16.80, 16.90 and 17.00, each an independent Yes or No. Today the FIX is at 16.92, a hair from the middle one. Which side does each wake up on?

Resolution criteria

• How it resolvesThis market resolves using the FIX exchange rate (pesos per dollar) that Banco de México sets on Friday, September 18, 2026, published officially in the Diario Oficial de la Federación (DOF) as the "tipo de cambio para solventar obligaciones denominadas en moneda extranjera". Due to the publication mechanics, the September 18 FIX appears in the DOF edition of the next business day, Monday, September 21, 2026 (the DOF publishes it with a one-business-day lag); it is the same number as the September 18 FIX. It is checked in the DOF by date 09/21/2026. The DOF value dated 09/18/2026 is not used (that one is the prior business day's FIX), nor the spot, intraday or over-the-counter price, nor press reports or aggregators. It resolves "Yes" if that value is strictly greater than $16.80 pesos per dollar. It resolves "No" if it is lower than or exactly equal to $16.80. It is compared using the four official decimals. If no FIX is set on September 18 (non-business day), the FIX set on the immediately preceding business day is used. The three levels of this group (> $16.80, > $16.90, > $17.00) are independent.
